To add a video to your project, click + or press (W) in the left dock and select the Video widget. Now you’re ready to choose a video source. There are two options.
URL
Paste a link to a Youtube or Vimeo video. Make sure the video on Youtube or Vimeo is set for public viewing.
Some attributes (Link, Custom cursor, Make draggable) are not available for videos added via URL.
File
Upload an mp4. or mov. video directly from your device. The size of a video you can upload depends on your plan:
- up to 100 MB on Advanced (Business) plan
- up to 50 MB on Freelancer, Studio, and archived Professional plans.
- up to 6 MB on Free, Personal, and archived Creator plans.
Player settings
Video settings in the widget controls allow you to activate autoplay and loop, as well as mute your video. To add a custom cover, enable Thumbnail and upload an image. For clips from Vimeo, you can also alter the color of the title or video player controls.
Advanced customization for uploaded videos
You have additional customization options for videos uploaded directly from your device.
Controls
You can disable or enable video controls (they are enabled by default), select their type (icon or text), position and color, and set them to disappear or be shown during playback.
Additionally, you can activate the arrow icon (↖) next to Position to make the controls follow the cursor movements.
This option is not available for videos in the mobile and tablet versions of your project.
If you choose an icon or text in the controls type, please note that their appearance cannot be changed. For more customization options, disable the controls and use triggers instead.
For a classic video look, set the controls to Default. This will mimic the interface of standard video players, using the browser's default controls, which may vary slightly depending on the browser used to view the website.
Play or Pause
Set up your video to start or pause on click or hover. You can select a widget that will set off this action by using the Trigger+ option—similar to triggers in animation.
Video widget in different viewports
The Video widget content is synchronized across desktop, mobile, and tablet versions of your project, meaning you can't add different video files to the same widget in different viewports. However, you can customize the player settings for the same Video widget uniquely in each viewport.
