Google Analytics can be enabled on all paid plans and only in projects with custom domains.
Starting from July 1st, 2023, Google is suspending data collection in Universal Analytics (UA) and is encouraging users to transition to GA4. This transition affects projects on Readymag that previously relied on data collection in UA. In order to ensure the continuity of data collection, it is important to make adjustments and enable Enhanced measurement in GA4 settings.
Before you start
Set up your GA4 account using this instruction. If you have already used Universal Analytics and want to migrate your data to GA4, follow the steps described in this article
After that, you need to enable Enhanced Measurement because there are a few events, such as clicks on external links and forms or video interactions, that can only be tracked with this option enabled:
- In the Property column, click on "Data Streams."
- Select the data stream associated with your Readymag project.
- Click on the "Enhanced Measurement" tab.
- Locate the following event types and toggle them to "On": External Link Clicks, Form Interactions, Video Interactions.
Connecting GA4 to a project or to your account
Google Analytics is implemented on Readymag by default, so you simply need to specify a unique Google tag ID in your project or profile settings. The Google tag ID is a string that usually starts with G- or AW-, used by GA4 to send all collected data to your account and property. To learn how to find it, take a look at this article.
You can connect GA4 either to one of your projects or to the whole account.
Google Analytics can only be enabled in projects with custom domains. To learn more about connecting a domain, review our dedicated guide first and then return to this article.
Option 1: Connect it to a project
Open your profile’s settings and paste your Google Tag ID into the Google Analytics field. Click Save Changes. Data collected across all your projects will be sent to one property in your Google Analytics account.
Option 2: Connect it to your profile page
Open your profile’s settings and paste your Google Tag ID into the Google Analytics field. Click Save Changes. Data collected across all your projects will be sent to one property in your Google Analytics account.
