Community templates should be flexible and well-structured so users can apply them as-is or adapt them to fit their needs. Rather than publishing large numbers of similar templates, we focus on curating a diverse selection of high-quality designs.
Following the guidelines below will increase the chances of your submission being featured in the Readymag template library.
Design and Layout
- Maintain a consistent visual style across all pages.
- Avoid repeating the same layout with only minor changes.
- Keep designs easy to customize—avoid overly decorative elements, complex layering, or hard-to-edit graphics.
- Use clear typographic hierarchy with limited font styles and sizes to improve readability.
- Only use original content. Don’t copy components from other Readymag templates or presets.
- Include high-quality visuals, such as images, video, or graphics.
- Use effects and animations purposefully—to support the design, not just as decoration.
- Keep animations consistent across the template.
Technical Setup
- Design using Readymag’s built-in tools. Avoid workarounds that could cause functionality issues.
- Remove hidden layers, unused styles, fonts, or pages.
- Add a custom title and description in your project settings.
- Use Text Styles to improve editability and responsiveness across devices.
- Remove default styles that could cause display inconsistencies.
- Stick to fonts available in Readymag—custom or paid fonts may not load for all users.
- Ensure layouts work well on desktop and mobile (and add tablet-specific versions if needed).
- Design mobile-friendly interactions. Avoid relying on hover effects for key content.
- Set up navigation properly using “On all pages” or “Above pages” for fixed elements.
- Double-check mobile menus for full functionality and visibility.
- Make buttons and links visually clear and interactive (hover states help!).
If you’re submitting a paid template, a proper description and refund policy must be included on the product page you configured via the third-party vendor — this is a requirement. Refer to our Submitting a template for review article for more details.
Content and Accessibility
- Keep text well-written, clear, and easy to understand.
- Use only licensed or original media. Avoid copyrighted content.
- Give your template a unique name that doesn’t duplicate or include existing category names.
- Check that all internal links (e.g. footer and nav) direct to the correct pages.
-
Make your template inclusive and accessible to a wide audience:
- Use respectful, discrimination-free language and imagery
- Avoid explicit content, nudity, or inappropriate visuals
- Do not reference political or religious topics
